Kautokeino is Norway’s largest reindeer herding municipality, where traditions still live. You have the opportunity to join meet tame reindeer and experience the everyday life of a reindeer herding Sami.

On this trip you will get to come into close contact with the reindeer! Join in feeding the reindeer, where you can nice close-ups and maybe a little selfie with the reindeer? Is there interest in it, then you can learn how to throw a lasso.

Nice to know:

The average temperature in winter is around minus 15-20 degrees. In Kautokeino you can anyway experience temperatures down to -45 degrees. Recommended clothing is therefore warm outerwear, woollen underwear, woollen socks, mittens, scarf, hat and good winter shoes.
